The First Annual Youth for Youth World Music & Arts Fest 2006

Featuring Bay Area's young people, ages 5-17, students of world music masters share their musical heritage in an afternoon performance showcase. Join us to hear the Nejad World Music Center Youth Orchestra & Drum Circle playing traditional music from Iran, Indian youth singer Gaayatri Kaundinya from the Ali Akbar School of Music, Indian Youth Sitar Orchestra from the Habib Khan Saraswati Temple and Gurukul, the Hungarian Fererc Tobak Family Ensemble, Kurdish youth singer Berfin Oztoprak, the lively Kurdish Youth Chorus and much more!

"A Journey to China Arts Festival"
Presented in association with the Alice Fong Yu Alternative School
Sunday, May 28, 2006; 3PM

Featuring the music and performing arts students from Alice Fong Yu Alternative School in San Francisco performing Chinese music, percussion, dance, brush painting, martial arts, lion dancing, and more! Combining direct documentary film footage shot by the 8th Graders' visit to China with special sets and lighting design, the master artists from different disciplines work together with these young artists to create an original multi-dimensional performance.
