Artist Residencies

Door Dog's Artist Residencies provide a rare forum where young people can try out traditional instruments and hear the music of different cultures they might not otherwise be exposed to within their own school, neighborhood, or cultural community.

Besides augmenting young people's music learning throughout the school year, our Artist Residencies work to break down cultural barriers by introducing different cultures and world music to students at a young age.

Previous Artist Residencies have featured guest musicians introducing the music of China, India, Nigeria, Lebanon, Tuva, and Kamchatka, to name a few.
